Manufacturing Excellence through Productivity Improvement

Date : 26 to 27 Jun, 2018

@ Bangalore

Last date for registration 19 June 2018

Manufacturing excellence / World class manufacturing, is the best ability of any company to provide high quality, competitive priced products and services in a global market place. Today’s challenges in achieving world class stature in manufacturing include improving product quality, increasing productivity, shortening new product development cycle and bringing in culture of innovation etc. Productivity of equipment is one of the key areas need to be focussed to achieve world class manufacturing. Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) is the single best metric for identifying the losses and improve the productivity of the manufacturing equipment. OEE is a performance metric compiled from data on machine availability, performance efficiency and rate of quality, that is collected either manually or automatically.

Achieving word class OEE of 85% is a challenging task for any industry. Educating people about OEE, constant monitoring of OEE and adopting right lean tools to improve OEE is very much required in any industry to achieve world class productivity. Today lean tools like TPM, SMED, Jishu Hozen, Kaizen etc. are effectively used to improve OEE in an industry. Keeping this in view, Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers' Association (IMTMA) is organising a 2 day programme on Manufacturing Excellence through productivity Improvement on 26 - 27 June 2018 at Bangalore.

  • Concept of World class OEE
  • Reasons for low OEE-Losses in Production
  • Concept of OEE calculation
  • Common myths in calculating OEE
  • On line monitoring of OEE - Software solution for measurement of OEE as a pre cursor to Industry 4.0
  • Automatic data collection and idle time analysis - advantages
  • How to improve OEE
  • Overview of Lean tools like TPM, Jishu Hozen, SMED, KAIZEN, DOE, Quality tools, 8D approaches etc. to achieve world class OEE
  • Successful case studies on OEE improvement
  • Live Demo of On line OEE monitoring solution in a manufacturing industry*

*Note: Plant visit of participants will be subject to the approval of the hosting industry.
