Manufacturing excellence / World class manufacturing, is the best ability of any company to provide high quality, competitive priced products and services in a global market place. Today’s challenges in achieving world class stature in manufacturing include improving product quality, increasing productivity, shortening new product development cycle and bringing in culture of innovation etc. Productivity of equipment is one of the key areas need to be focussed to achieve world class manufacturing. Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) is the single best metric for identifying the losses and improve the productivity of the manufacturing equipment. OEE is a performance metric compiled from data on machine availability, performance efficiency and rate of quality, that is collected either manually or automatically.
Achieving word class OEE of 85% is a challenging task for any industry. Educating people about OEE, constant monitoring of OEE and adopting right lean tools to improve OEE is very much required in any industry to achieve world class productivity. Today lean tools like TPM, SMED, Jishu Hozen, Kaizen etc. are effectively used to improve OEE in an industry. Keeping this in view, Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers' Association (IMTMA) is organising a 2 day programme on Manufacturing Excellence through productivity Improvement on 26 - 27 June 2018 at Bangalore.

Mr. Gautam Doshi - Industry expert with over 35 years of experience in Machine Tool and Automotive industry. He is advisor, IMTMA and has conducted several training programmes, seminars & workshops on machine tool related subjects. He is a consultant to reputed companies in the area of Productivity and Quality improvement and Advisor to many companies manufacturing automotive components and Dies & Moulds. Mr.Doshi is former Vice President & Technical Director, PMT Machine Tool Automatics Ltd., Pune and has also served in Tata Motors for over 5 years. He is the author of several IMTMA publications such as ‘First Time CNC’, Guidelines on Process Capability to name a few.
Mr. Ajit Kumar - industry expert having more than 43 years of experience. He has M.Tech in Foundry Technology from IIT Kharagpur and Bachelor degree BE from Bangalore University. He was AVP of Federal mogul when retired. Having 33 Years of experience in Manufacturing and Management of Auto Component Industry, 10 Years in Teaching M.Sc. and MTech students in Manufacturing Engineering and Management discipline. He is also an independent director for many industries.
Mr. Vinayak D Kamath – Industry expert having 30 plus years of experience in manufacturing industry. He is Vice President at Auto CNC Private Limited heading Operations and Marketing. He is specialised in Autonomous Maintenance of machines, Good manufacturing practices including 5S,Kaizen,QCC, etc.
