Programme Background

The need for idle time reduction through quick changeover / set-up time reduction is becoming significantly important due to increased demand for product variability, reduced product life cycles and the need to reduce inventories, in metal working. The manufacturers must have the ability to produce smaller batch quantities and deliver them more quickly. They must be able to utilize equipment for as many different parts as possible. This programme will address various concepts of 'Quick change over/set up time in metal cutting'.

  • The participants will be able to learn how to define the features of a changeover and learn how to eliminate waste. The elimination of wasteful activities will free up capacity, lower the need for inventory, reduce lead time, and help the organization become more flexible.
