Introduction

Design of Experiments (DOE) is statistical tool deployed in various types of system, process and product design, development and optimization. It is multipurpose tool that can be used in various situations such as design for comparisons, variable screening, transfer function identification, optimization and robust design.

This program explores historical aspects of DOE and provides state of the art of its application, guides researchers how to conceptualize, plan and conduct experiments, and how to analyze and interpret data including examples.

As a first step, DOE principles and methodology can be appreciated, even without deeper statistical knowledge. Once gained confidence, sophisticated software, advanced statistical tools can be used to make effective use of DOE.

It is most popular tool in scientific areas of medicine, engineering, biochemistry, physics, computer science and counts about 50% of its applications compared to all other scientific areas.

Keeping this in view, Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers' Association (IMTMA) is organizing a 2 days programme on “Design Of Experiments (DOE): Breakthrough towards Process Optimization” on 26-27 November 2019 at Bangalore.

Mr. Girish S R, graduated from Mysore University (BE) and Bangalore University (MBA), has a rich experience of 38 years in Production, Development, Quality, Customer Support, in various departments in Bharat Electronics Ltd, Bangalore, and the Premier Defence Electronics Company.

Girish S R has acquired Certifications such as : Lead Auditor for ISO 9001 QMS and ISO 14001 EMS, Six Sigma Black Belt (from ASQ, USA), and Six Sigma Master Black Belt (from ISI, Bangalore). Certified Reliability Engineer (from ASQ, USA), and Project Management Professional (from PMI, USA)

As faculty, he has continued training Engineers and Managers for CRE, RCM, RAMS Reliability Programs, Six Sigma Programs, PMP, Quality Improvement Programs, etc in various sectors like Manufacturing, Design, Quality, Strategic Management, to mention a few.
